The short version. Qivo is a player: it doesn’t come with any channels or content. You add your own sources, and you’re responsible for having the right to watch them. Qivo Premium is an optional subscription that you buy and manage through the App Store or Google Play.

About these terms

These Terms of Use (“terms”) are an agreement between you and Qivo Team (“we”, “us”, “our”). They cover the Qivo apps for iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV, Android phones and tablets, Android TV and Google TV (together, “Qivo”), and this website, www.qivo.tv.

Qivo asks you to accept these terms before you first use it. By accepting them, or by using Qivo or this website, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Qivo.

Our Privacy Policy explains how Qivo handles information, and forms part of these terms.

Qivo is a media player

Qivo plays live TV, movies and series from sources that you add to it yourself: an Xtream Codes login or an M3U playlist from a provider of your choice.

This application is a media player and does not provide any television channels, video content, playlists, subscriptions, or streaming services. Users must provide their own legally authorized media sources.

We don’t sell, supply, recommend or endorse any provider, playlist or content, and we have no relationship with the providers you use.

Your sources, your responsibility

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the necessary rights to access any content added to the application.

In particular, you agree to:

  • only add sources that you’re legally authorised to use, from providers that have the right to make that content available to you;
  • follow your provider’s own terms, including any limits on devices or simultaneous connections; and
  • only download or record content where you’re allowed to, and only for your own personal use.

We don’t host, control, review or monitor what your sources contain. Your provider, not us, is responsible for its service: the channels and titles it offers, their quality and availability, its TV guide, artwork and descriptions, and your subscription with it. Questions and disputes about a provider’s service are between you and that provider.

Qivo’s parental controls (Settings ▸ Parental Controls) work from the ratings and categories your provider supplies, so they can’t catch everything. Please don’t rely on them alone.

Using Qivo

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use Qivo on devices that you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, under these terms. You agree not to:

  • use Qivo to access, copy, record or share content in a way that infringes anyone’s rights or breaks the law;
  • use Qivo to break or get around any technical measure that protects content or limits access to it;
  • sell, rent, lend, sublicense or redistribute Qivo, or use it to provide a service to other people;
  • copy, modify, decompile or reverse engineer Qivo, except where the law allows you to despite this restriction; or
  • interfere with, overload or misuse this website or the app’s purchase features.

Qivo includes open-source software that is licensed under its own terms; our Acknowledgements list it with its licences. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under those licences. For example, the GNU LGPL lets you modify the libVLC library that Qivo uses, use your modified version with Qivo, and reverse engineer Qivo to debug such changes.

No Qivo account

You don’t need a Qivo account, and we don’t create one for you. Your provider logins, your library and your activity stay on your devices; the apps share only anonymous viewing trends, which you can turn off, as the Privacy Policy explains.

You’re responsible for your devices, for your Apple Account or Google account, and for keeping your provider logins safe. Anyone who can use your unlocked device can use Qivo on it.

Qivo Premium

Qivo Premium is an optional subscription. Today it unlocks watching on a bigger screen from a phone or tablet:

  • AirPlay: send what you watch to an Apple TV or AirPlay TV (iPhone and iPad);
  • Chromecast: play on a Chromecast or Google TV (iPhone, iPad and Android phones and tablets);
  • External displays: full-screen video on a screen connected over HDMI or USB-C (iPhone, iPad and Android phones and tablets).

Premium doesn’t include any channels or content, and it doesn’t change what your provider offers. We may add to or change what Premium includes; the app shows what it includes before you subscribe.

Payment and renewal

  • Premium is an auto-renewing subscription, billed monthly or yearly. The price is shown in the app before you buy, and can vary by country.
  • Payment is charged to your Apple Account (App Store) or your Google account (Google Play) when you confirm the purchase.
  • Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, and you’re charged for the next period, unless you cancel. On the App Store, cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; on Google Play, cancel before the renewal date.
  • If the price changes, Apple or Google will tell you beforehand, as their rules require.

Managing and cancelling

  • Manage or cancel Premium in your App Store or Google Play account settings. While you’re subscribed, Qivo links there from Settings ▸ Qivo Premium ▸ Manage Subscription. You can also go to apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions or play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions.
  • When you cancel, Premium stays active until the end of the period you’ve paid for. Deleting the app doesn’t cancel your subscription.
  • Apple or Google processes every purchase, under their terms. We never receive your payment details, so we can’t issue refunds ourselves: refunds are up to Apple or Google, under their refund policies.

Your devices

  • A subscription covers your devices signed in to the same Apple Account (App Store) or Google account (Google Play). If Premium doesn’t show up on one of them, use Settings ▸ Qivo Premium ▸ Restore Purchases there.
  • A subscription bought on the App Store doesn’t unlock Premium on Android, and one bought on Google Play doesn’t unlock it on Apple devices. On the App Store, Premium isn’t shared through Family Sharing.

App Store and Google Play

You get Qivo from Apple’s App Store or from Google Play, and your use of those stores is covered by their own terms.

If you downloaded Qivo from the App Store, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Standard EULA”) also applies to your use of Qivo, together with these terms. If the two conflict, the Standard EULA applies.

These terms are between you and us, not Apple or Google. Apple and Google aren’t responsible for Qivo or its support, or for claims relating to it.

Other companies’ services

Qivo works with services that other companies provide: your providers; Apple (the App Store, iCloud Keychain and AirPlay); Google (Google Play, Block Store backups and Chromecast); and websites you open from Qivo, such as a trailer on YouTube. Those services are covered by their own terms and privacy policies, and we’re not responsible for them.

Ownership

Qivo, this website, and the Qivo name, logo and design belong to Qivo Team or its licensors. These terms don’t give you any rights in them other than the licence described in “Using Qivo”.

The channels, titles, artwork, descriptions and streams you see in Qivo come from your providers and belong to their respective owners.

Changes and availability

We keep improving Qivo, so features may change, be added or be removed, and we may stop offering Qivo altogether. Qivo depends on your provider’s service, your internet connection and your device, so we can’t promise that it will work with every provider, stream, format or device, or that it will always be available or free of errors.

Disclaimer

To the extent the law allows, Qivo and this website are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows:

  • we’re not liable for the content, services or actions of your providers or of other third parties, or for how you use Qivo with them;
  • we’re not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for loss of data, profits or opportunity; and
  • our total liability to you for any claim relating to Qivo or these terms is limited to the amount you paid for Qivo Premium in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that can’t be excluded or limited by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Ending these terms

You can stop using Qivo at any time: delete the app, and if you subscribe to Qivo Premium, cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account settings.

If you break these terms, your licence to use Qivo ends. The sections on your responsibility for your sources, ownership, the disclaimer and the limitation of liability continue to apply after these terms end.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when Qivo gains new features or the law changes. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. When we make a significant change, the apps ask you to accept the updated terms before you carry on. If you don’t agree to them, please stop using Qivo and cancel Premium if you have it.

General

  • These terms, the Privacy Policy and, for App Store downloads, Apple’s Standard EULA are the whole agreement between you and us about Qivo.
  • If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
  • If we don’t enforce part of these terms straight away, we can still enforce it later.
  • We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to someone who takes over Qivo; this won’t reduce your rights. You may not transfer yours.
  • Nothing in these terms affects the rights you have as a consumer under the laws of the country where you live.
